WHO: Family and Friends of Terry Boot WHAT: Terry's Memorial Service WHEN: April 16, 2005 WHERE: Secluded beach at the White Cliffs of Dover RATING: G-PG
The memorial service for Terry wasn't a large event, and rather intimate in nature. Mandy had requested it that way, and left the location hunt to Lavender and Padma, though, she did mention that she and Terry had always loved the beach, regardless of time of day or season. The beach, in Padma's mind, had always been at Dover. She'd taken family vacations there when she was a child, so to Padma, the secluded spot she and Lavender found was more than perfect. To her, it felt secluded, but welcoming, a little nook in the white cliffs just wide enough for them to congregate and send Terry off well.
She and Lavender had arrived early to make sure the beach was clean and the wards were still in place. It was early enough yet that the sun wasn't full overhead. Waiting now for everyone to arrive, Padma could only hope she and Lavender had done enough. They had arranged for a few friends to say a few words, and there would be time after for the family and friends to talk, remember Terry, and simply take in the beauty of his memory in a place of solitude. All Padma and Lavender could do now was wait for everyone to arrive.
