She rolled her eyes at his teasing, but gave him a smile and disappeared into her bedroom. It didn't take her long, and she didn't really need a shower, but she freshened up, brushing her teeth and washing her face. She piled her curls into a loose bun on top of her head and came back in a white sleep shirt, wrapped in a loose pink cardigan, and slouchy pajama shorts.
She grinned at the spread he'd dished out on the dining room table, eyes lighting on him as she drew closer. "My hero," she said with a warm smile, wrapping her arms around his waist. "And you even brought my favorite vegetable," she laughed, indicating the bacon. She lifted up on her toes to kiss his cheek.
