“Exactly, although I suppose you could drive without one it would be against the law. Toy race cars? Those you can control perfectly legally. So long as you have the proper batteries.” Dean liked Mr. Wealsey. He still had some leftover fear from dating his daughter, even though that had been years ago. Still, he seemed to be a good man, even if his thoughts on Muggle products were somewhat out there.
Dean sighed, having forgotten about the curfew. It was beyond him that she could be wrapped up in all of that. After everything she had been through, after everything she had sacrificed to stop the last war, the thought of her being a ST was beyond him. “Cameras usually have a timer so they can start automatically. If it means that much to you, I could tape it for you. I’m not sure what mooncalves look like, or if muggle cameras can pick them up but I can certainly try.” He smiled warmly at her when she asked about Daphne. She was one of the few people in his life that recognized that Daphne was a part of his. “She’s well, hormones are acting up but she’s doing well. The baby is kicking. He’s strong. Well, I shouldn’t say he as we don’t know yet but I’d bet anything it’s a boy.”
Dean watched the crowd as she performed magic, making certain no one saw anything. “Not batteries, electricity. We can find a plug in easily enough. Most cafes have them and I’m sure they won’t mind. Charge it for a bit and it’ll be good as new. Although, it might need to charge for a few hours the first time. I could take it to my mum’s if need be.”
