The picture, she couldn't help but look down and smile at the picture. Moving it to her lap she continued to look at it before glancing up at Blaise and smiling softly to herself. The expression on his face suited him even if it seemed unnatural for her to witness. They were, as he had said, Slytherins, and forced to grow much faster than other children in Hogwarts even with the war. They had been dealt a fatalist hand as the other Houses hated and judged them; too see Blaise smile in such a way-
Brushing her thumb over the small face that looked so much like the man in front of her, the glass of firewhiskey he'd handed her stayed un-thought of for the time being. "The war was- disgusting; and I'm so afraid..." She stopped. Her political views had no place here, not at the moment. Instead Daphne rose her eyes to look at him and smiled. "I miss those years. Attempts to sneak off for a snog or skivvy off on classes... The ability to try and ignore what was going on in our parents world. But-" her face became downcast, "we knew better then anyone what was going on. I still feel that way. That we are on the cusp of something- and it will not be good."
She was silent then before taking the glass and downing the small amount he had poured for her. Looking back up at him her own lips quirked into a smile as her head tilted slightly, almost studying him. "I have missed you too. I feel as though we haven't talked rightly in ages."
