Lavender hadn't expected that. She was waiting for a barrage of angry words again, for him pushing her away worse than she was pushing. The tone, like the kiss, caught her off guard. She licked her lips and looked back at him, a little confused and a little desperate.
"We'll just continue if I stay..." she argued, although she didn't know if she could really leave when he was looking at her that way, when his voice sounded like that.
"I'm not married," She had no idea why that popped into her mind, the thing that started all of this. "It was just a party- an excuse for-" she shook her head, trying to figure out why they thought the whole idea had been a good one. It had only caused so much trouble.
She leaned against the wall facing him, her arms crossed in front of her. "I won't go." Slowly she slid so that she was sitting on the floor.
