Mandy wouldn’t have accepted the touch from many others, something about his touch wasn’t like the grating pity that others offered, it was more like understanding. She leaned into it for a brief moment before sighing. “My only other alternative would be dip into our secret savings to buy a flat which would only make the Ministry suspicious or to go live with my parents.” Their home was barely big enough for the two of them, certainly not enough for three more. “This is going to raise eyebrows among our friends.” She wanted to say her friends were going to hate it but she hoped he got it anyway without saying the actual words. She hated to admit that her friends weren’t as open minded as she was. She pushed aside the food and picked up her glass of juice and drank slowly while she tried to decide whether she should accept his offer.
“You already have so much going on, so many distractions from writing, I don’t want the twins to be another distraction.” She was comfortable, surprisingly so, with him and it worried her. Could she wake up everyday in his home and not fall for him? She felt a flutter in her stomach at the thought and pushed the thought away.
