Mandy’s own body had been reacting to the kisses and the feel of his skin underneath her lips. The distraction that the children provided was both welcome and needed. She didn’t think it was a good time to pursue any type of sexual relationship with a man who was already such a good friend. Despite what her body wanted, her brain reasoned that sex because she was feeling needy and emotional over losing her husband was not the ideal way to approach Draco. Both of them would end up hurt.
She wrapped her arms tightly around Aidan and looked at Alyssa and smiled. Alex had crawled onto the bed and sat carefully near Draco looking at him curiously. Mandy could see her mind struggling to process the events of the last 24 hours and she smiled. “We are all alright.” Mandy said, her voice rough. She could do it, she could be strong for her twins and not think about Terry. There wasn’t anything she could do for him at that moment and making sure the twins were safe was more important. “I think we should have a proper breakfast and then discuss things that are going to happen,” She reached out and smoothed a hand over Alex’s blonde hair reassuringly. She realised that Draco had offered to let her and the twins stay but she had not responded, she had no idea how to bring it up now.
