Mandy came awake slowly, the first thing she noticed was the sound of stomping up and down the stairs and giggling children. She smiled, listening to Aidan’s giggle, not quite aware of the fact she was wrapped around Draco in a very intimate manner. She was pleased that both of her children seemed to be so lighthearted and carefree after the horrifying events of the previous evening.
Mandy opened her eyes and looked at the man next to her, taking in his profile in the morning light. Her legs were tangled with his and her head was on his shoulder, her hair spread out over his arm and the pillow. She shifted, reaching out to pull the blanket over herself when she realised she was still dressed in a loose tee shirt and pair of panties. Her cheeks coloured a bit as she thought about where she was and she wondered if it would be awkward when he woke. She fought the urge to touch the scars she had briefly traced before falling asleep, instead raising her arm from his chest and slowly running her fingertips through his hair, her expression carefully blank.
