So far, Charlie had really enjoyed his short visit home. He missed being around his family and friends, but then, whenever he came home, since he did so rarely, it was always some sort of special occasion. And Charlie would have been lying if he said that he didn't enjoy the extra attention that he got when he did visit home. He even enjoyed the extra attention from his mother when he visited the Burrow, although the time of transition between welcome and her characteristic nagging was growing shorter and shorter.
But really, Molly's nagging was the least of Charlie's worries. Once again, England seemed to be going to shit again, except this time it was at the hands of a seemingly logical government. At first, Diggory had made sense, he'd provided the stability that the country needed, but now... The new laws and policies made Charlie nervous. Not to mention, Ginny was dating a former Death Eater, the twins' birthday was quickly approaching, and Percy had left the Ministry. Not all was right in the world, but the state of the Weasley family was definitely out of whack.
Tonight, however, Charlie was avoiding thinking about those complicated issues. He was meeting George, and hopefully Percy, for drinks at the pub. He didn't have anything too specific planned, but if Charlie knew the two like he thought he did, they were far overdue for a distraction of the not-so-proper sort. And if anybody excelled in diversions of the sort, it was Charlie.
So, when Percy and George appeared in the pub, Charlie waved them both over to the corner of the bar he'd already claimed for them. He was halfway through his first beer, and he'd already mapped out the surrounding crowd and tagged a few birds for further investigation. But before any of that happened, his brothers needed drinks.
