Rose/Michael
“I thought the number one rule was always approach a horse from the left and a bull from the rear? And I did keep them where I could see them. Right in front of me and then I swallowed it because I was thirsty.” It took Rose a heartbeat to start laughing before looking over at Michael. “Please don’t worry. My brothers read me the riot act when I was younger, several times just to make sure the point got across.” He really was terribly sweet to be worrying about her and she was grateful he was here; a reminder that the magical world did exist. Plus she’d bought his silence. She trusted him not to tell, to keep his word.
“I do a lot of other things in my job but ah.. I’ve been told its best not to mention them in polite company.” Especially male company. “But you’ve pretty much pinned down what I do on a daily basis. I get paid to cuddle small animals, it’s a great job!” As the drink was slid across the bar, Rose grinned at the bright pink colour of it and the small twirl of lime clinging to the side. “This looks brilliant! Thankyou.” It tasted even better, she found out and took another sip of the fruity drink. “What did you call this?”
Despite the hair, the dress and the heels – regardless of the alcohol borrowed confidence, Rose still flushed at the way he blatantly ran his eyes over her form. “Michael! There’s no one I..I came with my flatmate and my friend.” Keeping one eye on her drink and the other on her companion, Rose tried to subtly tug her skirt down further. Having Michael discuss her legs seemed wrong somehow.
