In his search for something easy to eat for breakfast, Terence had come across some bread and some cereal in the first cupboard he'd opened. With the bread, he could make toast, and with the cereal he could make oatmeal. Both required a bit of effort, but Terence decided on the cereal because oatmeal actually seemed to be a bit easier to make. He just added a bit of water to the cereal, then heated it up with his wand. Unlike toast, there was very little chance of actually burning oatmeal.
And when Rose said his name, Terence was so startled that he nearly jumped out of his skin. He'd been so focused on Astoria that he'd practically forgotten that she shared the flat with Rose. And a three legged kneazle. He nearly dropped his oatmeal to the floor, but Terence managed to hold onto the bowl. "Rose, good morning," Terence greeted, somewhat embarrassed by his disheveled state.
"I'm sorry if I startled you, I wasn't thinking that you'd be up and about this early," he explained, one had scratching the back of his head, the other dumbly holding up the steaming bowl of oatmeal. "I'd offer you some, but it's probably not going to taste very good," Terence said once he sat the bowl down on the counter again. "But you're probably wondering what I'm doing here?" he asked with a smile, even if the situation was a bit awkward.
