Astoria shook her head violently when he said he would wake her up on time. She couldn't possibly go to the office. She couldn't risk anyone hearing her like this. Sure, it was hardly a secret but she hid as best she could, hoping people would forget her secret. If someone mentioned the journal or--no, it was too risky. She would work from home tomorrow. If she rested she could be ready for human interaction Thursday. If not, she would have Rose do all of the talking.
She wanted to ask how Terence was doing. This couldn't be easy for him. She hated that she had upset him a few days ago. He was perfect to her. She would try harder in the future. In the morning he was getting the best breakfast of his life. Her elf would make sure of it.
She moved to grab a bit a parchment from the end of her bed. Summoning her quill she scratched out a quick note before handing it to him. She kissed his cheek once more before turning him into a human pillow and closing her eyes. They would get through this. She wasn't sure how at the moment but they had to. They had survived a war without being dragged down and she refused to let a baby be the end of them.
Thanks Terence. The Higgs name is still strong for a reason. I love you.
