Terence didn't deal well with his emotions, but he certainly knew anger. He couldn't believe how Daphne was handling her personal affairs, he knew that she certainly hadn't been taught to deal with her troubles in such a manner. Sometimes, when he took the time to think, he couldn't believe that Daphne and Astoria were even related, much less raised in the same household. He'd be lying if he said that he didn't prefer one over the other, Astoria had always been his to protect, she was the good girl, but he'd never felt such ire toward Daphne.
He no longer cared what Daphne did with herself, the child's father, or even the baby. As far as he was concerned, they were finished being family, and every family had a black sheep. Even his father's numerous sins during the war hadn't been quite so public, and Daphne seemed to be proud of the way that she was destroying the Greengrass name. It made Terence sick, especially when he was doing everything he possibly could to take care of and restore his own family to the level of comfort and regard they'd held before the war. Now the odds of that happening seemed insurmountable.
But first, he needed to take care of Astoria. She wasn't dealing Daphne's overtures very well, and he knew that she probably didn't want the extra attention right now, but he couldn't just leave her by herself. He needed to make sure that she would at least be okay throughout the night, and if he could offer her a bit of comfort in the process, then it would ease his mind just a bit more.
So, a carrier of warm, frothy cocoa in hand, Terence let himself into Rose and Astoria's flat. He set out one of the thermoses for Rose in the kitchen, then headed toward Astoria's room with the other two. "Astoria? I've got cocoa for you," Terence said, voice low as he knocked on her door frame. He wasn't sure how much good his presence would actually do his cousin, but he wanted her to know that, no matter what Daphne decided to do, he would always be around to take care of Astoria. He just hoped that she didn't pick up on how upset with Daphne he actually was.
