It was a good thing Harry wasn't a sore loser. In fact, he didn't particularly care either way whether he won or lost. That he was here rather than at home with a very quiet Ron was already a huge relief. Part of him didn't want to go back, while the other feared what would happen if he didn't.
And anyway, he wasn't out all that often: there was work, then the interrogation that followed, and tea with Luna once a week. The rest of the time, he was at home with Ron, and occasionally Hermione. She still worried about him, but had, for now at least, stopped hovering.
Harry moved a rook to take one of Percy's pawns, just for the hell of it, and took a bite of his sandwich, waiting for Percy's next move.
