Harry shrugged. In truth, it warmed him a little, the fact that Ginny seemed to care enough to offer in the first place, even if there was nothing to be done and even if she knew (because the possibility definitely existed) that he would refuse her help anyway. Still, she had offered. That had to mean something. Maybe they were going to finally get passed their differences. Or else, maybe that was too much to hope for, but hope he did.
"No really," he answered, probably just as Ginny had expected. "It's..." Harry shook his head. Explaining this to another person, someone who was on the side that... wasn't his... or at least who had been.... He didn't know how to start.
"It sounds stupid, when I say it out loud." He didn't want to say more, but he couldn't look at Ginny either. Harry looked at his hands, resting on the table, instead. "But it hurts, you know?"
