She hated the convention of ordering the same thing as her date. It seemed weak-willed and ridiculous. But she really couldn't read the menu, and it did sound good. So when the waiter came, she simply asked for the same after Blaise had ordered.
"You haven't told me much about your daughter," was her conversational gambit after the waiter left them alone. She hadn't really asked because it had seemed too much like prying, given the state of things between him and Su. But she liked kids, and she was curious. And they had to have something to talk about that didn't involve snarking back and forth at one another.
