WHO: Eva and Michael
WHERE: Eva's flat
WHEN: Sunday night
WHAT: Mopey Mopertons?
RATING: TBD
There was a slight haze of smoke curling through her bedroom. Her sister would be pitching a fit no doubt if she were home. Something about not getting the security deposit back if the room reeked of smoke especially that kind of smoke. Eva usually snuffed her spliff out if given too much grief but the beauty of having the flat to herself was that she didn't have to. Instead she could lay on her bed, count the many cracks on the ceiling and smoke her way into a nice hazy sense of nothingness. Granted she would be hungry later and there was a severe lack of good food in her flat was a worry for later.
She regretted telling Michael anything. Regretted adding that particular burden to his plate. In all honesty she thought he already knew. She thought he had avoided the truth of the situation out of self preservation or perhaps just protecting Sofiya. It was what she would have done. What she should do with Steve. Yet every time the going got rough she wound up in the same place and it wasn't fair to Steve. Nothing she ever did was fair to him. If she was a more selfless person she would have wished him happy with some nice girl. But she wasn't. She'd hate that girl probably.
And clearly she needed to roll another if that was the train of thought the night was taking. All she needed to was to dwell on her mother and she'd have to give up the soothing quality of the spliff and find something much more amnesia inducing. Reaching for her paper she heard the floo come to life in the small living room of the flat. She waited for the fire to go down again before calling out to Michael. "Back here. Promise I left you all the beer." And she had.
