Dean had no idea where he was going off to. He wasn't familiar with Manchester and could only hope this wasn't a Muggle place. It was nice to have an excuse to step away from his journal, to stop another fight in the constant string of fights he seemed to have with Daphne. He knew better than to respond, to be sucked back into their fights that never really had a reason. He couldn't cut off contact with the mother of his child and so a strained relationship simple had to be.
Dean wanted to defend himself. To lash out at her scathing accusations that he had ever been cruel to her. He had done nothing but love her and had been betrayed in return. He knew she was merely looking for a reaction and arguing would change nothing. It was best to let her have her remarks and ignore it, no matter how much they hurt.
Now he needed to focus on Susan. A girl who was drunk and lost was not safe. His upbringing taught him to help someone in need and right now Susan needed help getting home. It wasn't worth risking her getting hurt by assuming she'd be fine. He arrived by the pub, nose crinkling as he took in the sight of the remaining crowd. Her hair made her easy to spot and he headed to the bar.
