Melinda stood from her seat slowly. She looked every bit the way an infallible solicitor should. Well dressed, predatory, and dangerous. She could hear the less-than-favourable greeting from the crowd as she stepped out onto the focus of the entire courtroom. It was a distant thing, however. She stood, silently, until the crowd had tired itself out on it's own.
"Thank you, Madame Inquisitor." Melinda began, speaking slowly and clearly -- an almost annoyed edge to her voice. "We've heard quite the testimony against Mr. Zabini, haven't we? A former Death Eater, for which he's paid his debt to society. A man of, at times, questionable ability in commitment to the women he may very well love, and even poor grammatical choices at times. However, this does not make a guilty man." For a moment, Melinda paused for the inevitable conjecture by the crowd.
"I, however, will prove that not only is Mr. Zabini is innocent, but that not only was he framed for these crimes, that it was done by the Ministry through falsification of evidence, mistreatment of a citizen, and an egregious breach of protocol." This time Melinda did not wait before continuing. "I will enter into evidence the log of requested files at the DMLE's records room." Melinda strode towards the head witch to hand her the document. "Highlight are the numerous times the files had been requested before either of them were suspect in this crime. May I, Madame Inquisitor, call into speculation Mr. Zambini's file. His real file."
