Alicia didn't like to be touched. She was touchy herself but that allowed her to be in control. She tended to shy away from those who would be overly affectionate for her. That was normally, nothing about her life was normal at the moment. She sagged in his hold, tried of trying to make everything okay because she didn't want to admit how much her life was spinning out of control. She was homeless, just released from prison and the perfect subject for a country song.
"It would be a vast improvement, let me tell you," she said against his shoulder, trying to make her voice stay light. She took in a few deep breaths, allowing herself to need comfort for a moment.
