Return Owl to Melinda
Do it then. He has been in there long enough.
Thank you. I know I can do nothing to stop you from reading the enclosed letter to Theodore but I am asking you to deliver it unread. It is innocent and contains nothing that could potentially harm him or put him in danger. On that I must ask that you trust me.
-Astoria Greengrass
[enclosed is the following letter sealed with the Greengrass family emblem:]
Theo,
Never has there been a more outlandishly ridiculous charge placed upon a man. At the same time I can see why they are doing this to you. You are what it means to be a Pureblood. You are kind when others are foolish, wise when others are rash and a gentleman when others are a goon. You make us a person. A person worth knowing and a person to care about. You undermine everything they want people to believe. How can Purebloods be evil when someone like you exists?
You make me want to be a better person. You've made me a better person. You will get out of this because there is no sense in anything if you don't. Theodore Nott, you a proud man because you should be. Stigma and shame will not linger with you despite your darkest thoughts. You're not like the others who have suffered the Ministry's scorn. You deserve the respect and prestige you are given because every drop of you is great. You do not need to hide behind money and name like I do. You are what the rest of us claim to be. Don't lose sight of that. They can't take that away from you, whatever title or brand they might try to give you.
You are my best friend Theo and I have never deserved you. Know that I will always stand by you, as will all your friends because you are someone worth standing by. I am counting down the moments until I can hug you when you get out. When I can tell you this to your face like I always should have done. I don't need to tell you to be strong because you are strong. I will see you soon.
