It had been a long couple of days. Sure, she had socialized with her best friend Lavender and even got to see Dean and Seamus but she was still... moping. Actually, if moping was a sport, Susan would take home the grand prize. Ever since she had found out her father was dead, she had called to make all the proper arrangements as far as digging him a grave at the family plot, getting his body back to England, flowers, a priest, the works. It was all very tiring and only served to make her want to break down. Of course, she said she would do it all alone. In reality, she hated that. It made her want to tear her hair out that there was no one else in her family to help her, and she refused to bring her friends into this. Instead, she had spend her past several days in solitude, crying over old pictures and memories and drowning herself in wine and gin. Chester had been quite distraught over her and her behavior, squeaking and following her around wherever she went or didn't go.
She had only slept several hours the previous night, but she was still fully awake when she invited Zach over for lunch. At least now she didn't have to be totally alone. She hadn't done much as far as her appearance went, but she doubted Zach would mind that she was wearing pajama shorts and a tank top, no makeup, somewhat unruly auburn hair, and her glasses. Hey, at least she showered. Walking over to her blender, she poured in a large amount of ice and blended until it had a margarita-like consistency before adding in a can of beer, a large amount of tequila, and limeade. Ah beer margaritas, something to help keep her sane. Pouring one for herself, she heard a knock at the door and quickly went to answer it with a tired smile. "Howdy there stranger," she said, leaning in the door frame. Okay, so maybe she was the tiniest bit tipsy already, but who cared? "Come on in." She motioned for the boy to follow and led him into the open kitchen of her loft apartment.
