LONDON -- After three hours of deliberation yesterday, the Wizengamot has rejected a draft of a bill designed to remove wands from Suspected Terrorists, on the basis that it is 'too broad' and would have allowed for the removal of wands from too large a number of people. The draft, handed down by the Minister's office earlier this week, is said to be undergoing extensive edits, and though no formal statement has been issued, an aide for the Wizengamot told the Daily Prophet that it was not an uncommon occurrence for drafted bills to be run through the Wizengamot for suggested edits prior to finalisation. Recent attacks by Suspected Terrorists are said to have been the impetus for this new bill, which is predicted to have wide support from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as well as local authorities in Wizarding areas. |
