WHO Daphne Greengrass, Terence Higgs, Astoria Greengrass(?)
WHEN 10 July 2005 | evening
WHERE the Ministry lockup/jail (place)
RATING G/PG
Daphne had been as patient as she could handle; tried to follow Astoria's instructions and just wait for him at home. She couldn't. Even with Damien keeping her occupied and distracted her thoughts did not go far from her cousin and the knowledge he was locked up. She had heard word that Isaac had been released and a few other team members but not Terence. She could understand Adrian--not that she agreed with it, only the brand on his arm made the Ministry more suspicious--but Terence held no such marking nor had he ever stepped out of line until that moment; why he was still locked up she could not understand and it made her anxious, even more worried. As the day rose a day later and he was still behind bars, Daphne could wait no longer. Her mind struggled on what to do, but she could not just stay calmly at home and not try and do something. What to do about Damien became the next struggle. She hardly trusted her mother at the moment and she knew if she went to Terence and he knew she'd left him with Dean he'd be furious. That left one option. It wasn't going to make him any happier but it was all she had left to do. Pulling down one of the 'New Baby for the Modern Witch' books she had received, she filled his nappy bag possibly too full, cast at least three of the recommended protective spells over him, and put the sling around her body that, until now, she had only used sparingly while at home. Tucked in comfortably, he surprisingly was asleep quickly wrapped and pressed close to her body, her heat beat thumping low in his ear. The books recommended floo and so she followed the example, dusting herself off and checking Damien who had woken and was looking wide-eyed but making no noise before walking with purpose to the front area of the holding cells. Upon her questioning she received a turned away answer before she got more insistent and after some severe arguing she was escalated to someone up further until they gave her answers. Terence would be released within the hour and if she would just quietly sit and wait she could sign his release. So with a glare and a curt nod, Daphne moved to sit, holding her hand to Damien's back, rubbing it softly as she sat and waited. |
