A lack of immediate denial was as good as a large sign with blinking red lettering on it. Morgan's response to Miles's confession was therefore less shock and more -- he wasn't sure how he felt; some of that confusion was probably reflected in his expression as he looked as Miles across the table. None of this was what he'd been expecting to hear, so far as laying a decade-old mystery to rest. Miles's previous comments began to make more sense, though, as did his bedraggled appearance and his lack of knowledge about the current state of Britain's wizarding world.
Being intimately familiar with Death Eaters and their sense of justice, Morgan could only imagine what that terse statement hid. "I'm sorry," he offered quietly. "That must have been very difficult for you."
