He'd scribbled the last comment back to her in the journals knowing that she was already on her way. Alicia meant what she said, and there was nothing he could do to stop her if she really wanted to do something. Of course, what she likely wanted to do right now was kick his arse, and though he was a big guy, there was something about Alicia Spinnet that promised pain.
Pain he deserved really, but when she knocked the door, for a moment, Robbie considered not answering. Pretending he wasn't in, maybe. But he couldn't avoid her forever. And if she tried to barge in, the wards would kick in and he'd have MAB crawling his flat within moments. Alicia was an ST; she'd be dragged away before he could explain, and he couldn't let that happen.
It was with slumped shoulders that he slowly spelled away the wards and slid the three locks back on the front door, unhooking the chain before opening it. And then immediately freezing at her first words. Bloody hell. A small part of him, though, did appreciate her getting straight to the point; it meant less lying for him. He'd never been good at lying.
He rubbed his forehead, nodding. "Might as well come in then," he said, stepping aside. He really wanted to get the door shut, just in case someone was lying in wait to attack.
