WHO:Theodore Nott and Padma Patil WHEN: Saturday, July 2, 2005, 6 p.m. WHERE: The Cheery Teapot, Exeter WHAT: Old friends, very reservedly, talk about Padma's problem RATING: Low
Padma was still aching from her wound. She wished she'd gone to see Augustus Pye about it, but really, this was the first time she'd felt safe enough to even leave Adrian's flat. Adrian's charms were efficient, and did their job, and with the help of his pain potions and balms, she was healing well, if not more Muggle and less magic than she was used to as a Pureblood.
Now, though, a week later and now aurors having busted down Adrian's door, she was relatively sure that she wouldn't be arrested the moment she left the flat. And so, instead of trying to figure out the limited Muggle transportation from Falmouth to Exeter, and praying she made it in time, Padma steeled her resolve and apparated to Exeter, and The Cheery Teapot she had recommended for their meeting. She'd visited a few times, just to get away, and she was glad for it now. Safely apparating to Exeter was one thing—she still wasn't sure if she were ready for London.
She held her breath for a few moment after she arrived in Exeter, and when she was sure there was no one coming after her, she began to walk to the coffee shop down the street from the apparation point. She was glad Lavender had sent some comfortable shoes, and she had had extra cushion just in case. She was walking rather well, now, but still with residual pain and tenderness, and still clearly favoring her left leg. She kept her purse, also owled from Lavender with her journal, clutched tightly under her arm as she entered the cafe, eyes immediately looking for Theodore, who was, if anything, always punctual.
