It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities
Albus Dumbledore
Harry shut his journal and stuck his finger into the center of it, pinning it to the table and spinning it around with his other hand. Every time he left Godric's Hollow for any reason he was worried that something might happen to him. Not that something happening to him really scared him. Not at all. What scared him was facing Hermione afterwards and trying to explain what he'd been doing out in the first place. That was scary.
Really, he figured the next time he encountered a boggart, the likelihood of it taking the shape of a bushy-haired, furious Gryffindor that he knew and loved was far more likely than it turning into a dementor. Actually, now that Harry thought about it, whenever he pictured Hermione angry he couldn't help but think about what she looked like when she was angry and twelve years old. All frizz and fury; he had to bite back a smirk when he thought about it. She was the best, that woman. The best.
And if he could face down a Dragon, Death Eaters, Lord Voldemort and an irate Hermione Granger? Well, this meeting with Michael Corner should be a cake walk. Of course, he really did doubt he'd be so lucky, but then--he did tend to be a lucky guy.
Harry didn't wonder for a second about whether or not Corner would show up, he knew he would because he wouldn't dare give Harry the opportunity to call him a coward or accuse him of backing down from something. So really, all Potter had to do was wait.
Well, wait and try not to drink too much between now and then. Harry was a friendly drunk and the last thing he wanted to be right now was friendly.
