"Wizards are affected similarly," Padma answered. "Though we know what the cause might be when memories go missing, when we find ourselves unable to recount days at a time." Padma still had a hard time trying to shake that feeling, the terrible lost feeling at waking up alone and disoriented, from the pit of her chest.
"But, unlike Muggles, our first thoughts aren't that we've hit our heads, or doubts of our sanity. Our first thoughts are on who might have taken our memories and why." Padma now knew who, but she doubted she'd ever know why. She took a sip of her tea, wondering how to casually change the conversation without seeming obvious or rude, when Theo seemed very much interested.
