When she didn't take his hand like normal, he knew it was bad and he took a deep breath. "He is an idiot if he doesn't know." He withdrew his hand and was silent as his tea was served. He ordered lunch absently and looked at her expectantly.
After the waitress left, he sighed. "This has everything to do with what happened last month, doesn't it?" He felt guiltier than he had in weeks, the mistake coming back to haunt him as he looked down at the table, stirring his tea absently.
"He will change his mind, this is ridiculous, you love him. I know you do." He swallowed roughly, "How are you doing? Are you alright?"
