Katie blinked slowly at him when she realised that he wasn't going to kiss her again and through the confusion, a sliver of doubt, confusion and even a little hurt seeped though. Had she pushed too far too fast? Had she been too open with the desire to kiss him again? Did he even want to kiss her again?
At that awkward smile, Katie fished for a grin of her own which failed to reach her eyes. "Course not. World would end if we were late." Falling into step beside him, she matched the length of her paces to his and reached up to hold her hand in front of her breath, checking for unpleasantness and stray garlic. There was none.
Still confused and a little bemused and - most annoyingly - knowing that she wanted to kiss him again, Katie chatted to him as though nothing was wrong. "Where are we going? You never did get around to saying?" However she vowed that he would make the first move next time, if only to soothe her ego. Not that there would ever be a next time ; Percy Weasley required a manual to operate and comprehend and she just didn't speak his language.
Weird, infuriatingly annoying intriguing man that he was. Her huff was barely audible.
