As he hurried down the hallway, which was ridiculously long by the way, unable to completely flee the scene, bumping into the filing cabinets as he kept glancing over his shoulder to see what she was doing. Did she know? Would she tell someone? She was an ST, she didn't have the clout to get him in trouble, did she? His thoughts fired across his mind in a flurry and his chest clenched painfully.
Looking back one of the times, he saw Padma stop to talk to a woman, and from their movements and head tilts, it was obvious they were discussing him. Padma looked nervous, alert. Shit! She did know! The other woman was smiling though, a little playfully, at both him and Padma. He frowned in confusion and nearly tripped over his own feet, before turning his head back to look where he was going. They weren't discussing anything bad then, he reasoned. No discussion of illegally Obliviating someone against their will and leaving them in a shed, their wound barely healed... Oh, God, he thought, the blood seeming to rush out of his brain and leaving him light-headed. Don't think about that, he told himself. Repress.
But it seemed as though he were safe, the last time he looked back, the other woman turning Padma and then laughing strangely. Had Padma made a joke? That meant she didn't know, didn't it? That was proof it was all fine, wasn't it?
Thankfully the hallway ended, and he ducked around the corner gratefully, breathing a large sigh almost into the face of another wizard walking the other way. He held up his hands in distracted apology, and aimed for the MAB, trying to calm his thoughts that he was fine. He was fine.
