"The shop is absolutely brill," Emma agreed with her. "I'm working there now, yeah? I used to work with creatures," she left out the part about the dead ones, and the ones that hurt folks, "and I always wanted to work with dragons someday, like your uncle Charlie does. But I'm having a brill time working in the shop."
Emma nodded. "Not ever. I don't even know who he is," she admitted. "Mum never told me."
She blinked in surprise at Natalie's offer, then flushed a faint pink. "Well, now, that's a brill offer, but I wouldn't want to take his time away from you. He might find it a bit awkward to find he's got a second daughter and this one full grown," she leaned in to whisper that last to Natalie. "But if he wants to spoil me a bit, I'm all for it."
