She wasn't sure what her words were supposed to accomplish, perhaps just a soothing of her own guilt for feeling the way she felt. She had loved him completely as a girl. So much so she used to plan her wedding around it. She had been so sure that she and Blaise would marry that when it came to otherwise she was devastated. Part of her had never gotten over that.
It seemed, neither had he.
Daphne wanted to feel vindicated in that knowledge; that he'd broken her heart only to realize what he'd truly lost. Except, she could not find it in her to feel that way. Instead she felt empty, sad and alone. Getting out of the bed her feet padded quietly over to him and stood behind him for a moment before carefully wrapping her arms around him, leaning on his back as she closed her eyes.
"I cannot tell you 'no', especially if it would save our dignity, but I can admit that I do not want you too." Daphne's voice was quiet, muffled by his skin.
