Blaise watched her, his heart raw and he had no idea how to deal with what he felt. His normal mode was avoidance and denial, he was trying to push it all away and ignore it. He returned her soft kiss and sat up, trying to pull himself together. "I love you, Daphne. I regret being selfish and pushing you away. I was young, thought I wanted freedom when in the end I should have been content with what I had."
He rose from the bed and from the temptation of touching her. He strode to the balcony and looked out. "I know you love someone else, I thought I had found someone but I keep coming back to this. I think this holiday has made it worse." He cleared his throat and didn't look back at her. "Maybe you are right, I should go."
