Blaise leaned into her, trying to find sufficient remorse for his actions but couldn't find it. He cared for Ginny, was supposed to be in a monogamous relationship with Ginny but in the back of his mind, he always came back to Daphne. It irritated him that she would be the one who got away, always be his biggest regret.
The kiss was exactly what he wanted and then it was everything he didn't want. He wanted so much more from her but the reminder of why he couldn't abundantly clear in the form of her rounded stomach. She belonged to another man and carried proof of that in the form of that man's son.
His heart clenched and he caressed his thumb along the nape of her neck in a soft, soothing manner. "I'm sorry, Daphne. It's wrong of me to say that." He sighed and gathered some of his composure around him, rebuilding some of his facade. "I adore you, I am very happy that you have found happiness with Dean." He wished he could find something like what she had, he just wasn't sure it would be with Ginny.
