Guilt ate at her gut, not at who she was with, or even the fact that they were alone on a vacation together; it was the lie she told Dean that got her there, or more precisely the omission of certain facts. She had had no qualms telling him she was going away for the weekend, that she was spending some quality needed time with one of her friends from school, Daphne merely left out that it was Blaise. She knew it was wrong of her, felt guilty for not telling him that, but she had not wanted a long drawn out questioning of why she was going with another man. It was not like she and Blaise were to do anything, he was merely one of her closest friends and he needed her support, it was only right she was going. Still the logic did not make her feel any better but she refused to do anything but enjoy her weekend. It was the point of being out, to relax.
The bed situation was...to say the least, awkward, but she would not think on it. They were friends and both in very significant relationships, the likelihood of anything happening was slim. Yet looking back from the mirror into the beautiful room with its one bed, she had to fight her brain from making its own associations, and tried again to focus on her reflection and finishing up her makeup.
Brushing a smudge of lip-gloss on, Daphne cleaned off the tip of her finger before wrapping the cashmere shawl around her shoulder and moved to open the door out into the beautiful view.
She could not get over how truly beautiful it was and smiled at Blaise as she shut the door behind her. Moving to thread an arm through his, Daphne leaned on him slightly to look out amongst the warm night air and expansive surroundings. "You constantly outdo yourself darling. I could not imagine a better place to be for our getaway."
