Lavender waited until things had settled down in the hospital. She'd been here long enough to have an idea of the shift changes and she found that not much had changed in the last five years. Once they were in a mid-night lull she went to the bathroom to change and nonchalantly walk out of St. Mungos. Nate was right, they couldn't keep her here if she didn't want to be. Whether or not Michael was right was of little consequence. Even if she was depressed sitting in a hospital was not what she wanted or needed. She needed a bloody hug and for the men in her life to start behaving logically. She heard Michael's voice reminding her that people didn't act according to her script and scowled, what did he know anyway? "Miss?" she heard the on-call mediwitch say but she just kept walking as if she didn't hear a thing. "Miss Brown? You can't leave, Miss!" Her tone was growing more firm and forceful and Lavender's feet were moving faster. She didn't even hear the call for help before mediwizards and witches seemed to enclose on her, quickly restraining her just before she could make it out the ward door. "STOP IT!" she screamed, panicking from the sudden force. Lavender thrashed, trying to get away as they called instructions to each other, warning each other about her status and the fact that she was considered a danger to herself, probably violent. The more they said the angrier she got and the more she fought them. Lavender shoved and pushed and kicked and yelled. As she bit down on the arm of a wizard holding her back she heard him scream before a stunning spell hit her back. Lavender went down immediately as the world went black around her. It was nearly dawn before Lavender woke, back in bed, though her room had changed now. She looked around at the stark white walls that she knew hid cushioning charms. They had put her back in the mind-healing ward and she felt tears well to her eyes. It wasn't until she tried to raise her hand to wipe them that she realized they had restrained her too. The restraints were invisible, but the magic tendrils were there and wouldn't let her go no matter how hard she struggled against them. She screamed for them to let her go, that she was fine and just wanted to go home but she'd played this game before and she knew no one would answer. |
