Who: George Weasley and Emma Dobbs What: George discusses bennies after hiring Emma last minute When: May 3, 2011, afternoon Where: WWW! Rating: PG Status: Open
George maybe shouldn't have gotten quite so fucked yesterday. He hadn't been that bad, and hadn't done any hard drugs, but he'd gotten pretty drunk, and, okay, he might have done a line or two of coke, but none of the really hard shit. He'd let Eva handle most of that, and bloody hell, she'd be a better distraction than those drugs could have been... case in point, she'd decided, ten minutes into his sitting down at his desk to do some work, to prove her under the table capabilities. No bloody wonder Emma hadn't been able to read any of the shit he'd written, and lucky for him, he'd managed to get all the important owls off before then.
But, now to deal with the fact that Dobbs had saved his arse, quite at the last minute. One of the morning shift girls had quit at the last minute, calling him a traitor for scheduling her to work on May bloody 2nd. He was lucky she hadn't alerted the DMLE on him. He was sure they didn't need much to deem a person subversive these days.
When Emma arrived, Kent (who was on weekday shift in Ashley's replacement while she recuperated) told her George was expecting, and motioned her back behind the counter and towards George's work room, which lay on the opposite side of the store room and employee workroom. It was a little messier than normal, but George was doing some paperwork, plus there was a new shipment to do inventory for. He'd ordered extra this month, knowing in advance how chaotic things were likely to get on the 2nd. Still, the backroom was neater than most people ever expected it to be, save for George's paperwork and the new shipment boxes, everything else had been put back in the place since the day before.
"Midget!" George called in greeting, not looking up when he heard someone enter, but knowing it wasn't likely to be anyone else coming back. The other employees had a seperate workroom, and George's workroom was only used for his work, storage, and experiments.
