"Still, you shouldn't have had to endure even that," Terence replied with concern. Thinking of Astoria trapped at school with those horrible people posing as teachers made Terence's skin crawl. At least now she was older, and at least now Terence could take up for her more easily.
"Would you feel more at ease if I made some preparations in case an emergency were to happen?" he asked. Terence was very much against leaving the country, but he couldn't ignore the truth in Astoria's words. It was a waste to leave the country after they'd endured the war, but at the same time, Terence wasn't willing to risk his entire family for his pride. "As a last resort, so we could get the family to safety if the worst happened?"
Terence's brows knitted together when Astoria didn't immediately agree to stay for the night. "I'm sure that Rose will be fine, but If you want to go home, I'll be happy to take you," he said, trying not to pout. It bothered him a bit that Astoria seemed intent on leaving despite Terence's concern.
