Loner. Veronica couldn't exactly blame him for that. People could be infuriating,t hen again he could just like dogs better and that was it. Who knew? She laughed. Who didn't like dogs more than people? There wasn't really anything not to like about dogs. People on the other hand...
"Psychotic? Excuse me?" she asked, thick with mock offense. That expression had served her well over the years. With cops, with suspects, with witnesses. Men, women...but mostly men. It was absolutely ridiculous what she could get away with by putting on a flirty smile and a giggly voice or even a sob story and a doe eyed pleading look.
"I'll have you know that I really just am this adorable," she added deadpan and then cracked a grin with a slight roll of her eyes. "Eh, what works, works. Makes people underestimate me."
So she was definitely going. All Veronica would really have to do was find the right boss in that unit and convince him, which could probably be done without the 'psychotic' look. "I appreciate this though. Thanks for the help."
She reached down for Lucky to give him a final pat. "Hopefully I'll see you again, buddy. Such a good boy." She scratched under his chin, pursing her lips. It was just too easy to go into baby voice around dogs.
