Huh, so the world went back to nature. Veronica curled her lip and made the ‘interesting’ noise. That was kind of crazy. Of course human’s destroyed earth and most of what they knew. At least they didn’t kill off all the animals in the process. She had hope to get a pup to keep her company now. A selfish thought, she knew, but who was going to check her? She was there alone. A dog was the least she could do for herself. “Makes sense. Makes you wanna go back and warn everyone, except nobody would listen anyway.” They all knew the danger and apparently the world went to hell anyway. That didn’t surprise her one bit. The world was always going to hell in some way or another. Fact of life.

No way he wasn’t completely new to everything completely, even the concept of complete annihilation of the whole planet. “Easy to forget about for a while.” While looking over at the peacefulness without all the people.
She’d questioned the poor guy enough, but he didn’t seem annoyed by it. Yet. She wasn’t being pushy and rude though, digging to some root of something. Plus, he wasn’t being an ass. That made it easy.
She let out a yawn that she’d had no idea was coming. Damn, she could use a nap...and it wasn’t like she had to go to work. “Went to bed way too late,” she commented before he had a chance to say anything It was true or maybe she just needed to eat. “I wonder if I could pull some strings and go out there to see.” It wasn’t as if she couldn’t take care of herself. She could take one of the other detectives or head out with one of the land rovers. Sneaky, possibly, unprofessional, barely...maybe... but that kind of curiosity could only be satiated by seeing it with her own two eyes.
