"This is bloody ridiculous," Draco muttered under his breath as he stood outside Potter's office door. He still wore the briefs and headband Pansy had insisted on, beneath a set of robes he'd tugged on to cover himself for the trip to the Ministry. Just how he was going to get them off in front of Potter, he hadn't yet decided. For a long moment, he shuffled in the hall, before finally forcing himself forward to rap his knuckles on the door, which opened almost immediately.

"Malfoy!" Potter exclaimed as he moved out into the hall. "Brilliant, here-"

He produced a small pup from the box in his arms, offering it to Draco. A tiny hat sat crooked on its head, and the pup nuzzled into the crook of his arm as Draco gathered it close and began stroking his fingers over its soft, golden fur.

"Potter-"

"My crup had puppies. Adorable little things, but I can't really keep them all. Thought they might make good gifts, though. What do you think?"

The bright smile Potter flashed as he waited for an answer made Draco's heart beat faster in his chest. After several seconds, he managed to nod, and Potter cheerfully clapped him on the shoulder, the box teetering in his arms briefly before he righted it again with a huff of laughter.

"Right then," he said as he started down the hall. "I've got to get the rest of these little pups a home. I'll catch you around, Malfoy."
