Disclaimer: I don't own much of anything, least of all anything having to do with Harry Potter.
A/N: This is for adventdrabbles and prompt #9: Home for Christmas (though I changed it to Hanukkah), plus elrhiarhodan's "Snape/Draco, teaching him the miracle of Chanukkah". Happy Chanukkah, everyone!
Remus walked in on a stiff gale of wind, wrestling the cottage door shut behind him.
"Professor!" Draco gasped, still unable to call him anything else despite the discomfort this caused everyone.
"Remus." Severus was more subdued. On the outside.
"T-t-tea," Remus got out. He was frozen to weary his bones, his wand totally on the fritz and incapable of a warming charm.
"Draco," Severus instructed, and the boy jumped up to make Remus his favorite Darjeeling. Severus stood from where they'd been sitting and made his way over to Remus, still shivering by the door. "Get your cloak off."
"Bloody w-w-wand…" Remus tried.
"Merlin, help us – get your CLOAK OFF," Severus demanded once more, this time simply Vanishing the thing, no longer patient. "Here," he said, Accioing a warm blanket and wrapping it around his shoulders.
"Th-thank—"
"Oh shut it," Severus snapped.
Remus smiled at him and took his hand. "Is that your p-paternal grandmother's Menorah?" He nodded toward it, clutching at the blanket.
"Come over by the hearth," Severus snapped, frowning intensely.
Remus followed, casting a glance Draco's way. He was in the kitchen, humming a little under his breath, dunking the teabag.
"It's nice," Remus said.
"What on earth are you talking about?" Severus replied, tugging on Remus, manhandling him until he was sitting on the sofa in front of the fire.
"That you're sharing that with him."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Bollocks, Sev," Remus laughed through his shivers. Severus flinched at the endearment. "You were lighting your grandmother's Menorah with Draco. Weren't you?"
"Why would that be a remarkable occurrence?" Severus persisted, stoking the logs with a poker rather than look at him.
Remus smirked. "You know why, you old softy."
Severus whirled on him, then, all fiery indignation. "You forget yourself, werewolf."
Remus may have been freezing bloody cold, but that look in Severus' eye warmed him from the inside – starting between his legs. Just then, Draco brought his tea.
"Here you are, Professor."
"Remus, Draco. Remus."
"That or 'plonker'," Severus muttered under his breath.
Remus just smiled at Draco and pulled him down for a chaste kiss on his lovely lips. "Thank you," he said against them, making the young man blush. Draco sat beside him, snuggling under his blanket with him, not helping Remus'…situation. Not that they couldn't all take care of that later.
Remus returned his attention to Severus.
"What," Severus said.
"Show us how to light it," Remus said, sipping his tea and holding their boy close, warming up considerably.
Severus just blinked.
"Go on. Tell us about the Maccabees, the shamash…" He waved his free hand then rested it once more around Draco's shoulders.
"Well, if you already know everything why should I bother?" Severus gritted out.
It was Draco who spoke up. "Because we love you. We want you to."
"Good lad," Remus praised. "Because we love you."
Severus acquiesced with a pained little grin. "Very well," he sighed.
And Remus loved him all the more.
