Written for adventdrabbles prompt #18: Christmas Incense
"Bloody fucking hell, how do I somehow always manage to end up involved in these absurd situations? Of all the blasted, wretched, foul, ill begotten…"
"Sev'rus, that you?" Hagrid's voice boomed in the darkness.
"Shush, you great oaf," Severus scolded.
"But whatcha doing in this here closet?"
"Idiot! I'm hiding."
"Oh…right," Hagrid muttered, scratching his chin in confusion.
"Er, hiding from what, Sev'rus?"
"The bane of my existence…that miserable, renegade Auror."
"Harry?"
"Indeed."
"But why? I though that you and Harry were getting on well recently."
"A little too well, I'm afraid. I went to see him last evening about Hogwarts small curse problem and now I can't get rid of him. Mr. Potter is under the impression that he's in love with me."
"Aye, that is a problem, but it must be a spell or somthin', don't you think?"
"Yes, you dolt. It is obviously a spell, but nothing I have tried can break it. I have Miss Granger researching it even as we speak, but thus far, we have been unsuccessful."
"Aw, poor Harry, I wish there was somthin' I could do to help."
"Actually there is something you can do. Take this sandalwood incense and wave it around Potter three times."
"Sure, Sev'rus," Hagrid agreed quickly. "Do you think that'll do the trick?"
"Hopefully," Severus sighed. 'highly doubtful,' Severus thought. "Well, let's give it a whirl, shall we?"
"Right away, Sev'rus," Hagrid said with a big grin. "Think happy thoughts and everything will be fine."
"Oh, I'm sure of it, imbecile," Severus drawled.
Moments later, banging resounded on Severus' hiding place door. Severus opened it slowly and peered into the corridor.
"Oh, it's you, Potter. How do you feel?"
Harry grinned. "I feel like--a kiss."
Severus groaned, pushing past the green-eyed devil in blue jeans, and ran for his life.
From somewhere behind him, the fleeing wizard could here Hagrid's voice yelling, "I don't think it worked, Sev'rus."
