Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Lucius/Hermione

"Mum, would you mind if I got Scorpius a Christmas present?" Rose said. "I thought I could send him one of Uncle George's Christmas candles. They're pretty and they smell nice, so I thought Scorpius might like one."
Hermione looked up from the long list of things to do, and make, and buy and sort out before Christmas. "Why should I mind?"
"Well, dad is still a bit funny about us being friends."
"I think your father is mostly funny about me and Lucius, more than anything," Hermione replied. "Scorpius is a lovely boy, with nice manners; I'm sure your father will come round eventually."
"Mmmm," said Rose. "Maybe. Dad didn’t like Lucius a lot.”
“There were reasons for that. Sensible ones at that, so don’t think I don’t understand why your father was unhappy.”
Rose shrugged. “I s’pose.”
“You s’pose, do you?”
Rose giggled. “Yeah, I do. So what’s the plan for Christmas then?”
“Christmas Eve at the Manor, and you’ll get to stay up till midnight so we don’t cheat by exchanging our presents on anything other than Christmas Day. Then we’ll go to the Burrow for lunch the day after. I wouldn’t miss Molly’s Christmas cake for anything, and you’ll stay there over night whilst I go back to the Manor for Lucius’ party.”
Rose giggled again, and made a rude, kissing noise.
“Yes, and that too,” Hermione said. “Lots and lots of kissing.”
“Ewwww, Mum!”
“If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t dish it out, young lady. I’m sure I raised my daughter to be better than that,” Hermione said, eyes twinkling.
Rose narrowed her eyes at her mother, wrinkling her nose in aggravation. “Anyway, do you think it will snow on Christmas day?”
“I’m sure if you ask Lucius nicely, he’ll make sure it does. At least at the Manor.”
“I’ll ask Scorpius, and he can ask Mr Malfoy.”
Hermione shook her head. “My daughter, already corrupted by Slytherins.”
“But Mum, you can’t blame me for that. You certainly didn’t raise your daughter better than that!”
