Dear Santa,
I don't want anything this year for myself, except for the new Quidditch Elite Pro 4000, a new cloak, chocolates from Honeydukes, ice skates, and a puppy, but what I'd really like is a new wife for my dad. He's very lonely now that I'm attending Hogwarts. I want someone to keep him company. If you can't get me all the things on my list, then a new mommy will be enough.
Thank you, Teddy Lupin
Christmas morning, Teddy ran downstairs giggling with delight. Everything he'd asked for was waiting for him under the tree, everything except a new mommy. Teddy looked around the cottage and his face fell.
"What's wrong, Teddy," Remus asked. "I think Santa brought you everything that you wanted."
"Not everything, Dad," Teddy sniffled.
"What else could you possibly want?"
"I asked for a new mommy, but…but…but, I guess Santa couldn't find one," Teddy hiccupped as tears started to roll down his cheeks in earnest.
"Hush now, Teddy," Remus tried to soothe, hugging the boy tightly. "Santa can't bring you a new mommy. It just isn't done that way."
"Well, it should be." Teddy whined.
"Not another word about it. Why don't you play with your new puppy? He's crying for some attention.
Teddy brightened somewhat at the sight of the energetic puppy with one flop ear and black spots.
Remus smiled as the notion of a new mommy faded and Teddy began to play with Spots, the name Teddy gave his puppy. *****
On Valentine's Day, church bells rang throughout the village as the newlyweds dashed down the aisle and out the door.
Teddy watched as his daddy and Severus kissed one last time on the steps of the church before the happy couple Apparated away on their honeymoon.
"Are you pleased, Teddy, now that your father has remarried?" Harry asked.
"Oh yeah," Teddy grinned. "It's not exactly what I had in mind and it’s a little bit late, but I can live with it. Thank you, Santa!" Teddy exclaimed.
