After sharing several kisses, Severus and Remus shook their heads and pulled apart.
“You have a way of wearing down a man with surprise, Lupin,” Severus said. His hand lingered as he stroked his way down Remus’ hand to his fingers, stepping toward his impromptu potions laboratory.
“You don’t stand still long enough for anything else,” Remus chuckled. He Summoned their outer robes, helping Severus don his so he could steal another kiss.
Severus smirked and returned the favor, adding a kiss on Remus’ nose while he wound the man’s scarf around his throat. “Now that we’re dressed, may we go to the dungeons?” Severus asked. He grabbed his satchel and Remus’ hand.
Remus stared at his hand for a second before his feet began moving. “When we get there, let’s ask the house-elves for some hot chocolate and scones. I’m getting famished with all this kissing.” He rubbed his shoulder against Severus’ with a light laugh.
“You and your chocolate,” Severus grumbled past a small grin. “Fine, we’ll get you hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles.”
As they opened the stable doors, a thick blanket of snow slid down the roof, covering them in sopping drifts. Peeves flew between them, screeching to high heaven as the snow continued to plop down upon them.
Not letting go of Remus’ hand, Severus whirled, his wand slipping out of his sleeve and flying into his off-hand. He had Remus wrapped in his arm and the other one pointing straight at the confused poltergeist.
“You were warned, Peeves,” Severus ground out. He suddenly flicked his wand up in a stabbing motion and the Bloody Baron appeared from a vortex, a company of knightly ghosts popping into existence behind him. “I invoke the Baron’s hunt, Peeves. You’d best fly fast and far or you’ll be chained to his stirrup for longer than it takes me to dry this snow.”
Peeves shot through the two wizards, the slick feeling of ectoplasm making them flinch, as the Bloody Baron grinned and shot forward in pursuit, his knightly companions yelling behind him.
Remus wriggled against Severus’ chest and turned his head to whisper adoringly, “My hero…”
