Dec 06, Harry Potter, Harry/Draco; Hermione
Title: Compromises
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/ Draco; Hermione
Rating: PG
Length: Oooh about 8 inches.
Being in love meant making compromises.
Harry put up with Draco's occasional snoring - though Draco didn't believe he snored, despite the pensieve evidence - nevertheless, regardless of the belief of the one being tolerated, tolerance was still extended.
In return, Draco had to put up with Granger's occasional forays into cooking, smile nicely, remember not to use the M-word, the HE words - though why anyone sane wouldn't let the house elves cook - and, latterly the R word.
Brightest thing she ever did, dumping the R, though Harry preferred to pretend that hadn't happened.
Soppy bugger.
Draco'd surrendered to the inevitable, and bought Granger a cookbook for Christmas, purely out of self-defence. It had worked, to some extent, and the chicken had been passable but nothing could prepare him for the pile of brown goo on his plate that was supposed to be dessert.
"It's supposed to be chocolate log," she said. "With a robin on it."
"It flew off, did it?" Draco asked, and Harry glared at him.
Hermione giggled. "It couldn't take the shame."
Looking at Harry, grinning at his friend, Draco felt something unknot. Anyone who could make Harry happy like that was ...ok.
He picked up the spoon, and tried a bit. "It looks dreadful, but it tastes all right. You'll get it right next time, eh?"
He still didn't snore though.
I'm sorry that Severus is still in foreign climes feeling sorry for himself, but them's the prompts.
