Title: "The Missing Part of Childhood"
Author:[info]littleblackbow
Characters: Alstromeria, Jim, Harry, Severus,
Fandom: Harry Potter/Allieverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 198

Harry never mentioned Father Christmas.

Severus never mentioned him, either.

For a while when she was young, Alstromeria wondered why that was, and if there was something wrong about what the other children had told her in the village. Perhaps they were all talking about some local legend, or an old man that moved away before she knew anyone.

She hadn't cared all that much, really. After all, her da' did as much as he could for her, and then when she met Jimmy and Harry, they helped out and were able to do even more.

It wasn't until years later – when she was at Hogwarts, actually – that she realized why her father and Harry never told her about Father Christmas.

They never talked about him because neither of them ever knew him when they were children, either.

Therefore, in first year after India was born, she and Jim decided they would start the tradition of including presents from Father Christmas for India, Harry, and Severus.

The looks on the two older men's faces when they were suddenly faced with mysterious packages from a childhood fairy story were worth more than everything else under the tree put together.
